Port of Arroyo Barril- No further progress seems visible since the last report. Also, no further news releases have been received by Samana Net from the development group that earlier in the year announced ambitious plans for a large cruise ship facility and the Puerto Pirata theme park destination.

 The Sabana de la Mar pier for the auto ferry crossing the bay to Samana has been completed and the ferry that had been moored at the Arroyo Barril pier for the past year has been moved and is now moored there on the south side of the bay.
 The ferry was supposed to commence operation in November 2001, but as of this report, operations have not yet begun.
