The Samana area's largest marine tours and transportation service, Moto Marina Club, has 6 high-speed boats ranging in size from 30 to 55 feet. All of these fully-insured, deep-vee, sea-kindly boats are safety-equipped including lifejackets and marine radios and most are powered with twin-engines. With capacities of up to 90 persons, these fast boats not only provide a fun and exciting ride to Cayo Levantado, they do it in less than 10 minutes from Samana Harbor!
Throughout the year, daily transportation and tours are offered to Cayo Levantado. Half-day or full-day packages include two-way transportation and offer the options of lunch at the Cayo and enjoying the different watersports also offered by Moto Marina Club. You can ride the "Yellow Banana," snorkel the clear waters, paddle a kayak or pedal yourself around in a foot-powered boat.
For many visitors, the highlight of the tour is exploring the giant caves, once home to the island's early inhabitants, the Taino Indians. While in the caves, it is not difficult for one to imagine a cooking fire here, a sleeping area there and a council assembly under the dome of one of the larger caves.
During the winter months of January, February and March, Whale Watching excursions are also offered. These informative expeditions of several hours' duration are led by knowledgeable guides who provide narrated, informational commentary in several languages about Samana's internationally-famous, humpback whales. These tours are conducted within approved guidelines and controlled conditions so as not to overly disturb the whales during their annual birthing and mating pilgrimage to our waters.
