The first thing you notice when you enter the Parada La Manzana of Antonia and Martin on the El Limon Road is all the flowers. Next you notice the grass and how neat and clean it is. And then you feel the hectic pace of modern-day life slowly melting away as the simplicity of Dominican country life gradually soothes the soul as you now quietly anticipate the day's waterfall adventure awaiting you.

And a lone green apple…
The lace-covered rocking chairs on the porch of the house, the open air restaurant, the simple kitchen with the mule sticking his head in the window, the sort-of-used-for-everything shed, the vegetable garden in the back, the horses waiting for your trip to the 'falls and a lone green apple (manzana) tree; they all add to the ambiance of this special place.

The Tour

Your waterfall adventure at El Limon starts in the morning with a warm welcome from Antonia and Martin. Then it's "mount up" on your horse and after a four hour guided tour to the waterfall and a swim in it's refreshing natural pool, you return to the parada and continue the day's adventure.

Real Country Cookin'

Many guests stay after the waterfall tour and have an optional lunch prepared in Antonia's very typical, very Dominican kitchen. Making do with simple things, Dominican women are adept at providing their families with wholesome and tasty foods.

Have lunch here

Enjoy an authentic country meal. Start with a shredded cabbage salad and then continue with the main course: chicken prepared in a Samanesa sauce and garnished with rice, platinos and local vegetables grown in her own garden: yucca, batata or yami; it's Dominican eating at it's best.

Fresh picked

Finish the meal with fruit and fresh-ground coffee from her own fruit and coffee trees scattered throughout the area. Ask for fresh fruit and one of her boys will gladly get it for you!

Coffee and Cacao

After lunch, stroll around the grounds and get a close-up look at her flowers and other shrubbery. Notice the pilon in the shed and then remember that many things such as grinding cacao beans are still done by hand in the Dominican Republic. And for a final treat, purchase some of the fresh coffee beans or the ground and grated cacao beans to take home with you as a reminder of the special time spent in the parada of Antonia and Martin in the Dominican countryside.
