 Samana Peninsula Airports

  Our airports are Samana's Arroyo Barril International Airport (shown above) and the El Portillo airstrip serving El Portillo and Las Terrenas.
At the new "Samaná International Airport" (AZS) at El Catey construction is in the finishing touchess phase.(October 2006)

The latest information received on this airport, a trial period of the runway has start and first international flights are expected in November 2006.

Flights from Germany, Italy and Canada schedule to arrive in November-December 2006 and continue thru the winter-spring 2007.

This airport is a 30 minutes drive to Las Terrenas, 40 minutes drive to Santa Barbara de Samaná and aprox. 1 hour to Las Galeras. The times are aproximate, driving in D.R. depends of to many factors to be pricise and on time.
