Waterfalls
As with much of the world's mountainous terrain, our peninsula is fortunate to have a number of picturesque waterfalls. Although most are small and are away from the populated areas, several may be easily reached and are popular tour destinations:the grand cascade at El Limon and the smaller one located off the highway just west of Samana.

Activities-Bring your camera for some nice pictures of the scenery and your bathing suit for a refreshing swim in the natural pool.

Food-Some of the tour operators offer lunch or snacks as part of the excursion package.

Tours-In addition to tours originating from many north coast and Peninsula locations(check with your innkeeper), roadside tour operators (paradas) may be found in the village of El Limon and along the El Limon Road and on the highway several miles west of Samana at the little bridge. Watch for signs.

Transportation-Horses or burros are provided by the tour operators or you may walk in although this is NOT recommended without a paid guide. Private property must be crossed and a fee is involved.
