En plus des taxis, des camionettes privées ou publiques (gua-guas), la République Dominicaine a la chance d'avoir deux sociétés d'autobus qui ont établis des lignes de transport. Métro et Tours Caribe de même que quelques autobus privés qui font la navette entre les principales ville du pays. Le transport aérien, qu'il soit régulier ou nolisé, est de plus en plus disponible. En plus, de la petite piste de El Portillo près de Las Terrenas, le nouvel aéroport Arroyo Barril de Samana est déjà en exploitation depuis janvier 2001. Les agences de location de voitures sont installées dans tous les grands centres et aux aéroports du pays. Dans la Péninsule de Samana on les trouve à Las Galeras, Las Terrenas et Samana. On peut aussi louer des 4x4 et motocyclettes..

Tous les vols "Air SantoDomingo" à, et de El Portillo sont décommandés. Au moment, où seulement les services de charte sont disponibles, de l'autre aéroport en République Dominicaine.
Aéroports

National agencies such as Hertz, Budget, Thrifty and Nelly may be found at the major international Airports.
Locally, vehicle rental agencies may be found in Las Galeras, Las Terrenas and Samana. Most of these offer delivery service to your hotel.
It should be noted that for both local and national rentals, the vehicle must be returned to the location from where it was rented.
Service de Bus
Caribe Tours and Metro Bus Lines serve Samana from Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata. Also, several other busses travel the same routes. It should be noted that Caribe Tours has only one bus daily departing Puerto Plata at 7 a.m. and returning, departing Samana at 4 p.m. Several other private busses leave Samana at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. daily. Have your hotel provide you with current bus schedule information.

Locally, rental agencies may be found in Las Galeras, Las Terrenas and Samana. Most of these offer delivery service to your hotel.
For the back roads of the peninsula and especially day trips to Playa del Valle and Playa Rincon, an ATV or motorcycle is recommended.
Service de Taxis
Private taxi service to and from your hotel is readily available for any location in the Dominican Republic. Prices vary from a few dollars (30-40 pesos) to several hundred dollars for a full-day's excursion service. Generally prices between the Peninsula and Santo Domingo are about $150USD one-way and $125USD for Puerto Plata.
For local trips, the price runs about 200-300 pesos between Samana and Las Galeras or Las Terranas or Sanchez. For Las Galeras to Las Terrenas or Sanchez, the price is 400-500 pesos. Public taxis, "gua-guas," cost about 30-40 pesos between each of the city/villages and operate about every 20 minutes. The market in Samana is the main terminus. Moto-conchos in Las Terrenas or Samana are 5-10 pesos for any short distance, negociate the price before hopping on of of this. Your hotel can arrange any private taxi rentals from local trips to airport arrival and departure service.
